Studies on optimal utilization of Solar-Photo-Voltaic water pumping Stem

A study has been designed to evaluate the performance of the existing unit under the given climatological conditions of Jabalpur and to make a possible break through for its optimum utilization for its functional utilizable time of working.

The conclusions from the study are SPV system produces discharge below 2 lps between 8.00 am to 10.00 am. Addition of battery back-up, cut-off and relay unit to SPU unit provided discharge below 2 lps during the same period. The battery attachment is recommended since, further same energy consumption it offers 1.32 times output over the system without attachment. Minimum average daily availability of 42.3 cubic meter /day of water should be considered for planning irrigation from present SPV pumping system. The Solar tilizability of existing SPV pumping system is 57.79 percent.
