Efficacy of Neem, HANPV and BT against Helicoverpa armigera (Hub.) at high and low volume spray droplets

Efficacy of Neem, HANPV and BT against Helicoverpa armigera (Hub.) at high and low volume spray droplets

It was found that different spray volume were equality effective. However, chemical insecticides with low volume spray were more effective. The data on infestation, bad seed cotton and yield revealed that all the treatments were superior over control. The application of endosulfan was the best treatment.

The interaction LV x endosulfan recorded least infestation and bad seed cotton with maximum yield and was the most economical.

The spray pressure and larval mortality with duromist nozzle had no correlation, however flat fan nozzle spray pressure had showed some correlation with mortality. Pressure 40 lbs psi (53.99%) recorded more mortality than 20 lbs Psi (37.79%). The insecticides were effective in decreasing order as: 20 lbs psi x HANPV, 40 lbs psi x HANPV, 40 lbs psi x Btk, 40 lbs psi x endosulfan, 20 lbs psi x endosulfan,40 lbs psi x Neemark,20 lbs psi x neemmark and control.
