Knapsack-type agricultural sprayers spray a liquid with the help of handheld nozzles connected to pressure reservoirs on the back of operators. Indeed, you may use a knapsack sprayer to dispense varieties of liquids. These include fungicides, insecticides, and herbicides. However, farmers and other agricultural owners must learn the right ways to handle such sprayers to make the most of them.

Level-operated sprayers are the most common type of knapsack sprayer. You must follow the mentioned steps while you use such devices.

Step 1-Instructions

Before you should use the sprayer, you must make sure to read the instructions given by manufacturers carefully.

Step 3-Selection of the Right Nozzle

The nozzle of a knapsack sprayer dispenses pesticides and other chemicals available in liquid form. The nozzles of a sprayer are available in different sizes to determine the exact amount you should spray.

Step 4-Calibrate the Sprayer Regularly

In the last step, you must calibrate the knapsack sprayer by using clean water regularly.

Key Requirements for Using Knapsack Sprayers

  • Clean water
  • Chemical containers
  • Fungicide, herbicide, or any other liquid fertilizer
  • Right PPE, which consists of rubber boots, overalls, face shield, and chemical-resistant gloves

Tips to Spray Liquid Fertilizers

You can spray almost every type of liquid fertilizer, including herbicides and pesticides by adopting 4 simple ways. Only, you must prepare for using knapsack sprayers appropriately.

Step 1-Fill the Sprayer

You should start by filling the knapsack sprayer with about 10 liters of water.

Step 2-Add the Liquid

You have to add approximately 50 ml to 100 ml of liquid fertilizer or herbicide.

Step 3-Shake the Sprayer

You have to cover the knapsack sprayer for shaking it vigorously.

Step 4-Add More Water

Now, fill the agricultural sprayer with 5 liters of water again until it reached the highest level or the sprayer becomes full.

Step 5-Spray Herbicide Solution

Spray herbicide solution to the unwanted plants or weeds present in your lawn or garden. However, you must apply the solution based on the usage direction for a single hectare.

Step 6-Record the Application in Detail

In this step, you should record the exact duration and the amount of your liquid fertilizer application.

Step 7-Repetition of the Treatment

If rains occur within only 4 hours of spraying the liquid fertilizer, you must repeat the entire treatment.

Precautionary Step

You should spray a single row belonging to the same pass whenever you spray insecticides, herbicides, or pesticides. In contrast, if you spray the rows right and left, it will slow down the entire process. Other than that, you should never forget to wear gloves at the time of adding fertilizers.
